Mark Birkett, Chief Executive

Mark began his career in insurance with a Lloyd's syndicate. After five years in underwriting, he moved into Reinsurance broking. In over thirty years in the London Market, Mark has gained experience in many classes of business including Marine, Aviation, Bloodstock and Property.

He has established a varied and stable client base and in the year 2000 he founded International Risk Solutions Ltd.

Nigel Paxman, Chief Operating Officer

Nigel started his career in the marine insurance market where he spent the first 25 years of his working life. He was the underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 575 before changing career in 2002. In 2002 Nigel moved to the valuable logistics industry becoming CEO and President of an international company operating in over 30 countries.

Nigel has served on various industry organizations including as a director of the World Diamond Council.

Stuart Markley, Finance and Compliance Director

Stuart is an experienced finance professional who recently served as Group CFO at a broker firm, managing global financial reporting and compliance. Previously, he was Finance Director at various firms, approved by the FCA, overseeing a diverse business portfolio. Earlier, as a Senior Equity Partner at Moore Stephens LLP, he led corporate audits and compliance efforts. His career includes finance director roles in insurance brokerage firms, where he implemented key IT systems and policies. Stuart’s background is rooted in chartered accountancy, with a strong focus on financial management and strategic planning.
